When you choose ethanol as your fuel source over gas or wood, you are totally simplifying your installation requirements and costs. There's no flue or chimney required when burning ethanol, which means that you have the ultimate in design flexibility to achieve a firepit in so many more areas of your home - both indoors and out.

Frist decide on the fuel type (wood or ethanol) and location (outdoors or indoors).
Then we suggest creating a cardboard cutout of a chosen size/type.
Now place the cutout in couple desired locations to double check how it will fit in that location, this will help to arrange seating appropriately around the firepit.
Bear in mind the larger the firepit the larger the output and further out the seating will require.
Finally ensure the chosen area is clear of any lose flammable materials that could cause a safety concern.

Yes, all Ecosmart firepits are able to be placed directly on a decking.
For Fireart fire pits whilst they come with ring bases these do produce residual heat that may damage sensitive materials such as wood or non-heat resistant tiles.
We recommend placing Fireart fire pits on a non-combustible slate, title or equivalent.
Fire pits should be placed on a level and stable location.
Another great option is to place the fire pit on a non-combustible surface such as crushed rock/stone, sand or gravel for a great outdoor entertaining area.
Please bear in mind placing our firepits on grass may result in burning/dying of your lawn.
